Affiliate Leader Focus: Diane Lees, Affiliate Leader of Helping Parents Heal - Madison Heights

My name is Diane Lees, and I am the mother of two beautiful children, Jenifer and Larry, who both now reside in spirit. Our sweet daughter, Jenifer, was born prematurely in Sept. 1974 and transitioned back home shortly afterwards. My husband and I were beyond excited when we were again blessed with our son, Larry. He brought us unlimited laughter, love and joy. When Larry transitioned on March 6, 2022, our hearts were broken and our world stopped spinning. We didn't know how to handle the waves of grief that kept knocking us over.
We were attending another grief group with parents whose children had passed trying desperately to find some comfort and healing. As we were leaving our very first meeting, another Mother approached me and told me to go home and check out the Helping Parents Heal website. I did just that, and HPH became the hope my heart was looking for and a light in the darkness. Unfortunately, I never saw that Mother again to personally thank her. But, I knew from that point forward, I wanted to give other parents the same hope, comfort and healing that was given to me by this amazing organization!
My husband had been getting dream visits early on, along with smelling our son's cologne and other more subtle signs that we both had received, but we didn't understand the connection until HPH. After our first evidential medium reading with a HPH provider, we KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt that both of our children were still with us! That made all the difference in the world! And with all the resources HPH makes available on their site, I was able to read tons of books, watch videos and listen to podcasts daily on my drive to and from work. I couldn't get enough information!
As a result, I was anxious to become a Helping Parents Heal Affiliate Leader as I knew there had to be many others just like me that were searching for hope on this painful and difficult journey. The friendships and bonds I've made with other HPH parents run deep, and I know by helping others heal, I'm healed in return. I am grateful every single day that I was nudged to find this amazing organization and hope to spread the love!
My husband and I have two sheepadoodles named Jake and Elwood (aka The Blues Brothers) who keep us on our toes. And to top it off, they are truly brothers! But the best part is they love to take their daily walks, so fresh air and exercise are part of our routine as long as the Michigan weather cooperates!
