Affiliate Leader Focus: Mary and David Yamamoto, Affiliate Leader of Helping Parents Heal - Ann Arbor

Six years ago, our daughter Kathryn transitioned unexpectedly to the afterlife due to cardiac arrest caused by QT prolongation. What she left behind was pure love and the seeds of a spiritual quest.

I’m not sure how David and I found our way to HPH, but thank you, Kathryn, for guiding us here. All the resources — Zoom meetings, learning how to connect with Kathryn, books, podcasts, and the amazing HPH providers — have been instrumental in our healing, along with meditation, learning Reiki, and spending time in nature.

But the truest healing power comes from being with other parents and learning from each other. After the second HPH conference, I was inspired to start a local affiliate group. I feel so much gratitude for the parents who come and open their hearts to each other at our Ann Arbor affiliate meetings, and for all the incredible parents — now dear friends — whom David and I have come to know through HPH. It is truly the journey of a lifetime.
