Oh, Sweet Lexi Was Absolutely Showing Off Tonight!
To our incredible medium, Karina Hemby—thank you from the very bottom of my heart for a reading that was nothing short of an absolute powerhouse!
But let's be real for a second: Lexi completely hijacked the room tonight, and I wouldn't have had it any other way!
If anyone wondered whether our spitfire, cussy, fiercely loyal girl was in the house tonight, she left absolutely no doubt! She came in hot, dropped her signature little winks throughout the evening, and proved once again that she knows my heart better than anyone on this earth.
Here is just a taste of how incredibly spot-on my girl was tonight!
Her Age & the Unexpected
Karina picked up on the age of 23—and in classic Lexi fashion, she was stretching it just a little! She transitioned at 22 and would be 24 now, keeping us on our toes and reminding us that she's growing right along with us.
Karina also validated the unexpected nature of her passing, her dad driving the machine, and even the painful turmoil and arguing we endured for a year and a half after her dad—the absolute love of her life—was unfairly prosecuted.
The Donuts Wink
And oh, that little winky-wink about donuts that came up later during someone else's reading?
Girl, I see you!
You just had to bring us right back to those off-road machines and keep us smiling through the memories!
July, Austin & the Butterflies
Karina mentioned July—the exact month Lexi transitioned.
She also brought up the name Austin, which didn't immediately click. But after a quick conversation with her dad, the connection became clear!
There is a precious three-year-old boy named Ashton, the stepson of one of Lexi's good friends. He met Lexi only once, yet recently had a dream about her surrounded by butterflies!
How beautiful is that?
Robert & the Tattoos
When Karina brought up Robert, I couldn't believe it!
Robert is Lexi's incredible tattoo artist. He didn't just create her tattoos—he organized an entire benefit featuring her drawings and tattoos to help our family with medical and legal expenses during one of the most difficult periods of our lives.
Then came another remarkable validation!
Karina sensed a tattoo running down the spine or back of the neck, with words resembling "forever and always."
Well, our family tattoo actually says:
"Forever" — Lexi's wrist
"And" — Daddy's wrist
"Always" — My wrist
We have our own little inside joke that Lexi is our forever, I'm her always, and Daddy is... well, we still laugh about that one!
But here's the amazing part: Lexi's next tattoo was planned for her back, and I had been considering one in that very same location. Robert even has the exact design drawn up and waiting!
Advocacy, Safety & Lexi's Mission
Karina spoke about standing up, advocating, and doing something big in Lexi's honor.
That is our entire lifeblood right now.
Inspired by Lexi and her dad's story, we've poured our hearts into community safety initiatives, including Buckle Up Buttercup, to help protect others, bring everyone home to Momma, and ensure that Lexi's legacy continues saving lives on the trails.
She knows exactly what we're doing, and tonight she made sure we knew that!
Creating New Memories Together
Karina shared a message about continuing to visit special places and create new memories with Lexi.
And that's exactly how we've lived since day one.
Every single day, we make new memories with our girl. We do her favorite things, eat her favorite foods, visit her favorite places, and surround ourselves with the people she loved.
Because our relationship with Lexi didn't end. It simply changed.
And the Validations Just Kept Coming!
Lexi wasn't finished! She seemed to pop in and out of readings throughout the entire evening, bringing one meaningful connection after another:
-
November 18th: My birthday!
-
Alex: Lexi's best friend.
-
Grandpa Mike: Her grandpa, who is navigating some health challenges right now. Sending him so much love!
-
Grandpa John: The grandpa she was especially close to.
-
The 23rd: Her closest grandma's birthday, coming up in October!
-
Rose and Carol: Grandma Rose and Great-Grandma Carol, who is in Heaven. Carol was the last family member to transition before Lexi joined her.
Every name, every date, every little detail felt like another wink from our girl!
That Classic Lexi Attitude!
And then Karina described Lexi's personality.
Sassy. Cussy. Fiercely outspoken. Never one to back down, especially when it came to standing up for her momma!
Oh, Karina, you have NO idea how perfectly you described my girl!
If Lexi were physically here for what I'm navigating right now, she would have an absolutely fiery, redheaded, zero-filter message for the people involved!
She'd be standing right beside me, rolling her eyes, ready to throw hands for her momma!
That's my Lex!
A Family Reunion Wrapped in Butterfly Wings
Tonight wasn't just a reading.
It was a full-blown family reunion, wrapped in butterfly wings, inside jokes, laughter, tears, and what felt to us like undeniable proof that love never dies.
Thank you, Karina, for holding such a beautiful space for my girl and for bringing through so many meaningful validations.
And thank you, my sweet Lexi, for showing up in the biggest, boldest, most unmistakably YOU way possible!
Thank you for keeping us laughing, crying, remembering, and feeling your fierce, beautiful presence.
You are still our spitfire. Still our protector. Still our girl.
And you are always, always our forever.
