Evolved Souls Don’t Need Long Earthly Experiences

To all parents and family members, I am very sorry about the death of your child’s earthly body. (I use those words because your children didn't really die – just their earth-suit did. That's an extremely important and comforting distinction.) I’m glad you are learning how to optimally heal and transform despite this seemingly senseless tragedy. Six keys to doing that are to remember the following about your children . . .
1. Over 99.9% of who and what your child IS (not was) continues in the next phase of life. This is true no matter how they passed on and at what age. See the collective evidence for life after death in these articles:

Their love, energy, sense of humor, memories, personality, and much more continue in the next phase of forever. We know this is true through scientific study of postmaterial (the so-called 'deceased') people and clinical data from near-death experiences, life between lives sessions, and evidential medium reports.

6. You can heal yourself and create more meaning to your child's life by helping others. Also, consider the possibility that your and your child's souls / consciousness volunteered to take part in a meta-plan as described in article #119 Helping Yourself, Others, and Our World.
After a child transitions from earth, family members understandably feel much pain, sadness, anger, guilt, and other lower-energy emotions. No one could or should ever judge you about that. However, many people have learned to regularly use the above keys to feel more peace, joy, love, and gratitude. To learn more, see article #108 Higher Energies, Emotions, and Ways of Being.
You can do the same. It’s not easy and it usually doesn’t happen overnight, but it is possible via daily small steps using those keys and the following seven action steps . . .
- Attend online HPH meetings shown at Calendar and attend local Affiliate Groups. (If there's not an in-person group nearby, consider starting one.)
- Use Special Interest Groups that offer more focused service for fathers, siblings, parents of children who passed by suicide or substance abuse, and more.
- Contact one or more Caring Listeners who talk with you at no charge. These volunteers are not trained therapists; they have been through 'the dark night of the soul' and will share worked for them, recommended resources, and more.

- Lean on others and ask for help when you need it. Later, when you are doing better, you can help others by sharing your greatest gifts and following your inner callings.

Q: Thank you for all the relentless work you do to change this world. I discovered your books and teachings after my son died by suicide. I was quite angry because practically nothing is taught about spirituality in my church. Learning how to connect with my child took my soul much higher and further than my church ever could.
Sensing my son more clearly – that is seen as a sin in my old church – now feels so natural. They said I was on "the highway to hell" because I was talking to the dead and going to a medium. A: Thank you for your timely article, Marlene. I just sat down to create this Q & A when your email arrived; it addresses both messages I wanted to share.
I agree that some, perhaps many, denominations don't answer the questions that are most important to congregants. Established churches usually follow a similar litany that people know by heart. However, when really big challenges occur – like the bodily death of a child – ministers often aren't well prepared to handle these big questions about the big picture of life. I attended theology school in the 70's to learn how to be a pastoral counselor; I left after 1 1/2 years of taking all the training they offered which wasn't much.
As a result, some pastors offer meaningless platitudes: 'God knows best, it's God's will', your child is with The Lord' and so on. Preachers in fear-based denominations may thrown salt on the wound by saying your child is probably in hell (forever) because he didn't attend church, she chose suicide, he used drugs, etc. You can imagine the horror of parents who receive this schizoid input that a loving God could never imagine. As for you being on 'the highway to hell' for contacting your son, that road better be 24 lanes wide going both ways because many parents around the world are in touch with their kids. What loving parent wouldn't want to do that? Raymond Moody MD, PhD stated that about 70% of bereaved parents report one or more meaningful contacts with their children. In my work with thousands of parents over the last 11 years, I've found that number to be at least 95%.
Old Testament warnings against 'consorting with the dead' were primarily in the 'Thou Shalt Not' book of Leviticus. I take those warnings seriously but not literally. It's wise to be careful how and with whom you work to better perceive your child. However, prayers / intentions that you are shielded and protected by good and God, love and Light are sufficient to block lower energies of imbalanced / malicious souls. I know many mediums who help HPH parents and they cover this base and more.
My free Afterlife Contact Session, as described in article #9 Visit with Your ‘Departed’ Loved Ones NOW, is an excellent way to have meaningful contact with your child. Here is a recent report from a mom Marte whose son Noah went to his new plane of existence on May 25, 2021 at the age of 22:
‘For the first session, we just wanted to look at each other and connect through our eyes. During the second session, we laid down in a meadow and held hands and were quiet. Then we got up, and Noah was everywhere, everywhere and fast. At first, I couldn’t figure out what we were doing, but then I realized he was having me go to his world so I could experience it.'
'We flew through the universe towards the stars, and he took me to a small room full of colors. Climbing trees, swinging, sitting on the crescent of a moon, and flying together. It was Noah taking me in fast motion like he did while on earth. Then we came back and he said, “Mom, let’s just lay down again.” We held hands and looked up at the sky. He made me laugh so that he could show me that joy.'
Two days later, she wrote “This journey is a hard one, but moments like Monday made me wake up happy and with purpose the last two days. Thank you!”
That doesn't sound like a highway to hell to me. It sounds like a highway to heaven as you remember who you really are, why you're here, and Who walks beside you always.
