I want to begin by saying that my son Devyne never shows up in gallery readings. Because of that, I normally avoid them it can be tough to watch other parents receive messages while mine stays quiet.

But yesterday was his birthday, and I was struggling deeply with the human side of grief. Earlier that day, I had a long, powerful connection with him on my own. Then he suddenly showed me Shelley Wilson’s face and her Zoom link. I knew he was directing me to go, even though I didn’t know what to expect.

I’m so thankful I listened.

Shelley brought my son through perfectly. There wasn’t a single doubt — it was absolutely my child. Every detail matched, and everything he had already told me earlier in the day in our private connection was beautifully validated through her. That kind of confirmation is a gift I will carry with me forever, because it helps me trust my own connections with him even more. He flat said mom trust what your getting.

Shelley also explained something that meant the world to me: the reason he doesn’t usually come through in gallery readings is because he’s so polite that he waits and lets other people’s children go first. That sounds exactly like my son.

And finally, he acknowledged a recent decision I made — a hard choice where I stayed true to who I am and gave up an opportunity. It felt good to have my son confirm, through Shelley, that I did the right thing.
