We had a gallery reading with Maureen Hancock on October 28, 2025.
Usually, before I sign up for a gallery reading, I feel a nudge to register. This time, I was the nudge! I spoke out loud to my son: "Kevin, stop what you are doing and meet us at 8 with Maureen.”
Maureen is very special to us. A little over a year ago, we had a gallery reading with her and our daughter, MaryEllen. It was less than two months since she passed, and it was our first introduction to mediums, and HPH. It was life changing (and mind blowing!), to say the least! Three weeks after this reading, we found ourselves on our way to our first HPH Conference! (Thank you, Maureen, for opening that door!)
Our son, Kevin, passed in February 2025, just 8 months after MaryEllen. Since then, I've only joined gallery readings when I get that unmistakeable nudge. Both kids are incredible communicators from the other side! In life, both kids were very medically complex, with many severe handicaps, and nonverbal. In spirit, they are eloquent and joyful.
Joining Maureen’s gallery reading again felt like coming full circle. For Maryellen’s reading, the energy was electric, you could feel it! The same was true for Kevin's!
Maureen knew that Kevin’s (my husband) parents passed. Both were there with young Kevin. Maureen knew that Kevin (Sr) was Mom’s favorite and there was a special connection between them. That is true. She was also aware that Kevin was one of five kids and there were three boys and two girls.
Maureen was also pretty emphatic that Kevin Sr and his brother Mike were in a studio audience for a TV show. Kevin did not have any recollection of this but Mike did!!!! Both of them were in a studio audience for a Long Island Ducks hockey game players’ interview!
She knew that young Kevin passed unexpectedly and that something was up with his kidneys. That is true! After his kidneys began to fail, sepsis took over. Maureen kept hearing Kevin say, “I wish I had a rewind button." That statement hit home for me. During his hospitalization, I was home sick with the flu and couldn’t be by his side for a few days. I’ve carried guilt for not being there every minute. I think the “rewind” was his way of telling me he’s sorry I still feel that way and that I don’t need to.
Maureen described Kevin’s condition as something similar to cerebral palsy, but it was something else… something rare. That is completely correct. Both MaryEllen and Kevin had an extremely rare genetic condition. She knew that Kevin had been nonverbal. And that he can talk now! And that he was here to teach. I believe this wholeheartedly.
She emphasized that both kids are together. (That’s what keeps us going, knowing they are together and inseparable as they always were here.)
And lastly, Maureen asked the kids’ names. We told her MaryEllen and Kevin. She said “Well, I just renamed them Dan and Tara!”
This made us laugh so much, because Kevin would absolutely, absolutely say Dan and Tara for the laughs! So now they have nicknames, forever! Hahahahaha!
The energy for the reading was definitely Kevin: electric, joyful and light! Just like Maryellen’s reading last year. Absolutely them both times.
