Ginny Kern/Lisa Ann Reilich

Ginny Kern:

Hi! My name is Ginny Kern, and I am Samuel (“Sam” / “Sammy”) Miller Kern’s mom. Sam transitioned on 9-26-20 at the age of 29. Sam was a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, creative, witty person, and I miss him every single day. There is some comfort knowing that Sam is with his dad, Ted, who transitioned 3 years ago. Having lost two of some of the most important people in my life within the past 3 years is unfathomable; but, I try to be as strong as possible for my other two children, Grant (27) and Jennifer (22) (plus, Ted and Sam would want me to be happy). Also, I am delighted to be serving as the Maine Affiliate Leader for Helping Parents Heal. Volunteering was an integral part of Sam and Ted’s lives, and I want to honor them in a way that makes them proud, so this opportunity seems befitting. I sincerely hope to provide support to others who are on this same unexpected journey. Love & Light to you all.  My email is: ginnykern8@gmail.com

Lisa Ann Reilich:

Lisa is a dairy farmer, theatre teacher and  mother to five children in all — Uilame, Ella Meera, Maiah Alyssa, Margaret Mae and Willow —  three of whom are now in Spirit. Uilame and Willow transitioned in pregnancy and continue as muses for Lisa’s  creative writing — as does Maiah who transitioned on March 3, 2020, just shy of her 19th birthday, in a freak accident while away at her first year of college in Tennessee.

The greatest gift and turning point for both Lisa and  Maiah following Maiah’s transition was moving away  from holding her in the past  to fully embracing her in the present moment, including Maiah  as an  active presence in daily life.

She is grateful for the Helping Parents Heal Community which supports, encourages and normalizes our continuing and evolving bonds with our children in spirit. She is an HPH Affiliate Leader serving the  HPH Maine Chapter. My email is: HPHLisaAnn@gmail.com.

We will be meeting by Zoom every fourth Monday of the month @ 7:30 pm EST.
