Tonight's HPH meeting with Kathy MacMannis was just amazing! Not just for us, but for all the kids she connected with. When Kathy brought through a young girl with an illness that had a swollen face, loved pink, liked to dance and loved stuffed animals, we knew this was our daughter Lauren.
Kathy had brought Lauren through several months ago in a gallery reading with evidence that helped us know it was our girl. This time was no different! Her swollen face was the result of steroids she was given to treat the side effects from her bone marrow transplant. So much so that her phone did not recognize her face. Additionally she indicated a wedding coming up on the "friend side", one that she would have been in. Lauren would have been her best friend's Maid of Honor, and in fact the bride has asked Patty to stand in for Lauren in the bridal party (queue the kleenex).
She also mentioned sailing or sail boats. It didn't come to us until after the reading, but we attended another one of Lauren's close friends' wedding this last August in NewPort RI. The harbour was filled with sailboats the entire weekend and we did actually go sailing. We are also attending her cousin's wedding in Punta Cana this February, and the bride and groom have asked us to join them and their friends the following day to go on a catamaran trip. It was one or both of these coming through.
Kathy also mentioned something "spinning" in our house. Lauren's dog Daisy was uncharacteristically unsettled the two hours leading up to the gallery reading, and we wondered if Lauren was around and Daisy could sense her presence. This made perfect sense! All of this is very specific evidence that just lets us know Lauren is right here with us, attending important events and remains a part of our lives. Such a gift:)
