Susanne Wilson’s compassionate readings and steadfast assistance have offered countless parents comfort, validations, and hope on their healing journeys.
When my son Morgan transitioned from altitude sickness at Base Camp of Mount Everest in 2009, I was able to speak to him by phone. His roommate, Colin, held the phone to his ear while they attempted CPR. I told Morgan we loved him, were proud of him, and not to be afraid, and immediately felt an enormous, unmistakable hug from him, a warmth that assured me he was still right here. I later learned this is called a Shared Death Experience.
After his passing, I received many validations and wanted to know whether what I was experiencing was real. I searched for support but found no group that welcomed open conversation about these connections. This led me to co‑found Helping Parents Heal with Mark Ireland; a place where parents can speak freely about the ongoing bonds with their children in spirit.
Soon after Morgan passed, Angie Bayliss, the owner of my favorite yoga studio, told me a medium, Susanne Wilson, had stopped by about renting space. Skeptical and unsure how to test her, Angie handed Susanne a holiday photo I had sent. Immediately, Susanne began bringing through Morgan with striking validations.
She captured Morgan’s personality and mannerisms and relayed many specific details to Angie: a big teddy bear (Morgan was nicknamed “Big Bear” by his U of A teammates for his huge hugs), a bottle of Captain Morgan (his high school nickname was “Captain”), and a young man shouting through a megaphone that he was “fine;” the same cheerleading megaphone displayed at Morgan’s memorial. Susanne described him on a mountain, lying on his back with a small black box by his ear, listening intently but unable to speak. Most powerfully, she said, “Mom, I heard everything you said, and I love you back,” mirroring the moment Colin had held the phone to Morgan’s ear.
Susanne also said Morgan and his two roommates in China were like a “band of brothers.” Colin and Matt accompanied Morgan’s body to Lhasa and stayed with him until my husband could obtain a visa six days later.
Perhaps the most astonishing validation came when Susanne sketched a unique stone split in two and said we would receive it from the place where Morgan transitioned. A month later, Colin arrived with my favorite flowers, which he said Morgan had picked, and the two halves of that very rock from the Tibetan countryside. It matched Susanne’s drawing exactly.
Susanne’s reading brought profound comfort and confirmation to our family, even though I hadn’t been at the studio to receive it. She became an integral part of our support group and assisted at many healing meetings. The photo above was taken at New Vision Center for Spiritual Living on January 29, 2016, where the room held 80 parents and at least 20 more listened from the hallway to hear Susanne’s validations.
Susanne Wilson is truly remarkable. She has helped countless parents over the years and has continuously supported Helping Parents Heal. We are deeply grateful for all she does to help parents on their healing journeys.
