I am sending my validation story from the gallery reading with Kathy MacMannis. Thank you for organizing these amazing events!!
My husband and I were so lucky to receive a reading from Kathy this evening. It was her last reading of the night and she started by stating that she had a daughter who loved theatre. We both thought immediately of our daughter, Brianna (OK, my husband was falling asleep on the couch and shot up when he heard that). Kathy took us right away and stated that this woman loved and participated in many aspects of the theatre. Our Brianna danced, sang, and acted in musical theatre since she was in the 5th grade. Kathy continued by stating that our daughter was talking so fast, and referred to the "energizer bunny", which is how we often described our Brianna. She continued to say that this woman was outspoken and would "shoot from the hip." Again--Brianna, 100% .
Immediately after sharing this, she said that she saw a bench and possibly a memorial garden. I started a garden in her memory 2 years ago and this past summer, bought a bench for the garden. Another thing Kathy mentioned was that there was some sort of memorial at her school. There is a memorial plaque beside the classroom she taught in as well as a hallway named after her in the school(Kathy didn't know that she was a teacher prior to this). Kathy continued by saying there is a picture of her in the family room that I kiss regularly. While it is not in the family room, there is a headshot of Brianna by my bed on the nightstand that I touch/kiss often. Lastly, Kathy mentioned that Brianna insisted on coming forward at this time because I needed to hear from her and that this time is meaningful for some reason. I have been struggling with not "feeling" or "connecting" and getting really down. Well, this morning, I turned on the car radio and blasted the song that was on (which I rarely do since she passed) and sang along. The lyrics were: She looked at me with her big brown eyes and said "You ain't seen nothing yet!". I smiled and thought, "OK Bri, bring it on!".
