Thank you, Rick Wilcoxson! Rick took this picture during the 2026 HPH Conference. We’re gathered together for Sound for Grief. It was a bit of a scramble to rearrange all the chairs from “lecture mode” into a circle, but everyone pitched in, and we managed to seat about 200 people for an intimate and powerful healing experience together.

Seeing this picture prompted me to look back.

I started meditating with sound with my teacher in 2000. It was 15 years before I began gathering my own instruments around me. I moved slowly, purchasing only what resonated with me. I broke crystal bowls and rebuilt, making the harmonies even lovelier. I incorporated some of the more than 300 pieces of music my son Daniel had bought for me over the years. When he gifted me music from Source Vibrations, I had no idea why.

“You’ll be using it, Mom,” was all he said.

He was right.

I gave away instruments, too—a handpan drum to a young man whose mother and brother had passed, and a kalimba to another grieving young woman. I couldn’t sustain that, so I started giving away plants instead. I still do! There are a dozen plants in my “nursery” right now, waiting for new homes.

“May life nurture life” is the phrase that plays in my head. People send me pictures of the plants I’ve gifted, almost like family photos, and I’m so happy to see them flourishing and bringing joy.

In 2016, after my daughter Chloe passed into Spirit, I joined a bereavement book club. After a few months, I brought in my instruments and suggested that we end our monthly conversations with a short meditation. Soon, the meditations became the reason we gathered, and a Sound Facilitator was born.

I started offering Sound with Helping Parents Heal when COVID hit in March 2020. I discovered Zoom, learned which buttons to push, and here we are—six years later, in the Deer Scorpion room at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass.

In The World According to Garp, John Irving wrote, “You gotta get obsessed and stay obsessed.” I agree.

Ten years of being obsessed with raising our vibration. Hundreds of sessions. Hundreds of hours of Sound. Each session unique, yet always with the same intention: to bring healing, peace, and connection to Spirit.

All is possible.

Thank you, Rick, for capturing this beautiful moment.

P.S. I just sent the photo to my son Daniel. He wasn’t even surprised.

“I always knew,” was all he said.

Cheeky, no?
