Ali and Tammy / Jane Meakin
A Profound and Healing Connection
Jane Meakin provided an extraordinary reading that brought me immense comfort and validation during my grief journey as Ali's mom. The specific and intimate details she shared about my daughter were remarkably accurate and deeply meaningful.
Jane immediately knew Ali was in her early twenties and correctly identified her exact age of 23. She mentioned the name Rose, which is Ali's middle name, and described her long blonde hair perfectly. Most touching was how Jane captured Ali's authentic spirit - her individuality, her natural beauty that didn't need makeup, and her bohemian, free-spirited nature. Jane specifically mentioned Ali's connection to being barefoot, whether in grass or on floors, which was absolutely Ali's essence and something only those who truly knew her would recognize.
Jane also spoke about Ali having a good upbringing and many friends, which was true, even though Ali ultimately lost her battle with mental health challenges. This acknowledgment honored the complexity of Ali's life and struggles.
Perhaps most meaningful was when Jane mentioned a scholarship. We have established the Love Like Ali Scholarship for Windells Ski Camp at Mt. Hood in Oregon, a place Ali treasured and attended every year. Jane said Ali was excited about it and thought "it's so cool" - exactly how Ali would have responded. This connection felt incredibly authentic and brought me tremendous peace.
Jane also mentioned daisies, and this brought such a smile to my heart. Every day I see little daisies at the end of my driveway and tell Ali I love her. Jane said that Ali was joking that she isn't the daisies - and that humor is so perfectly Ali! We always joked like that together, and hearing that playful spirit come through was both healing and so true to who Ali was.
What truly amazed me was when Jane said Ali is a star. Another gifted medium, Suzanne Giesmann, had told me the exact same thing, which felt like powerful validation. This resonated so deeply because Ali loved the stars and would always talk about her "star family." Jane also spoke of Ali being spiritual, which she absolutely was. We would talk about spirituality so much together, and I know we have a beautiful bond that continues even across the veil, though I miss her terribly.
Jane conveyed that Ali was proud of what our family is doing. We continue Ali's work through our nonprofit, Surf the Earth MHC (Mental Health Community), dedicated to ending the stigma around mental health - a mission Ali began before her passing.
This reading provided not only comfort but confirmation that Ali's spirit lives on, complete with her wonderful sense of humor and deep spirituality, and that she sees how we're honoring her memory and continuing her important work. Jane's compassionate delivery and genuine connection made this an invaluable experience during my healing journey.
I am deeply grateful for Jane's gift and her ability to bridge the connection between our world and Ali's continued presence.
With Gratitude and Love,
~Tammy Patrick
