Bill is just an ordinary guy who has had extraordinary things happen to him since the passing of his son Greg. Susan writes it all down. The Calgary, Canada affiliate leaders are on an amazing journey with their son.

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR
Most of us have lived our entire lives with a background hum of fear, and when a child passes and a parent's greatest fear occurs, the volume of that background hum can be amplified to debilitating levels.

The state of fear is very low vibration, and when you are in fear, it's difficult to take in and accept this truth: There is nothing to fear.

Our son Greg guides us to tune our radio from fear to freedom. In a recent download to his Dad, he offers this wisdom from his perspective on the other side:

"What is the best way to deal with fear? Through connection with Source. Fear is a state of separation. Connection to Source is a reconnection to Oneness and fills the God hole that leads to fear, and as the saying goes, fear is the absence of faith. So believe in your Oneness with Source and all the unity with the Divine and you will have slain the dragon of fear. Without fear, the ego takes the back seat and you are able to exert your Divine-given power and align your will with the will of Source and be free of fear forever."

Greg's statement "...and as the saying goes, fear is the absence of faith" is a deeply meaningful callback to a life-changing event in his Mom's life. Already well trained in fear from a lifetime of anxiety and worry, 17 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and immediately experienced a tidal wave of fear. In the deepest valley of my suffering, Bill opened up one of his Alcoholics Anonymous books and read this to me: "Fear is the absence of faith."

It hit me like a lightning bolt, and became my surrender moment. I got down on my knees and prayed, "Dear God, help me accept Your will and plan for me." I came to understand that all is unfolding as it should in my life, and that regardless of my outcome, I have faith that I am deeply loved and supported by my Creator. When I felt overwhelmed with fear, I prayed, "Dear God, This is too much for me. I hand this over to You." I let go (many times!), and let God.

Six years later in 2014, our 27-year-old son passed from this Earth from the effects of substance use. The spiritually transformative experience I was gifted by my health diagnosis had laid the foundation on which to face this unimaginable event, and my son lovingly guided me through the grief with his incredible signs and guiding messages.
With powerful and unmistakable proof, Greg has made it abundantly clear that he is very much alive and thriving in another realm. The core fear of the human experience is the fear of death, and the death of a child is the ultimate fear. Once you understand that we are eternal, everything changes. Fear fades. You are so much more than your body and what you can perceive with your senses. Our children have gifted us with the knowledge that we are eternal beings. It's a gift of epic proportions because it frees us from the tight grip of fear.

Be gentle with yourself as you learn to release your fear and lean in to the love of Source. Never forget that you are a soul having a human experience, and part of that experience is sometimes feeling fear. Releasing fear is not instantaneous, because our fears run deep and have been experienced over lifetimes. Instead, we're aiming for progress and not perfection, because we've been conditioned to worry and live in a world saturated with a seemingly infinite array of fear-inducing events that keep us feeling small and powerless: war, scarcity, division and chaos, to name a few.

Greg often reminds us to tune out the collective consciousness of fear that pervades this planet. It doesn't mean we don't care about the state of the world; it means we're not contributing to the overwhelming flow of low frequency emotions. Several years ago, I made the decision to turn off the news and its 24/7 agenda of despair - no small feat for a former newspaper reporter and editor!

Reach out for support when you need it, and don't hesitate to connect with others of like mind and heart. We have such a beautiful community in Helping Parents Heal, which offers meetings where we can share our thoughts and feelings, and Caring Listeners who are a voice of comfort.

As Greg repeatedly tells us: "Have faith, trust, and believe that all is unfolding as it should and all is well." Reclaim the peace that is your natural state.

In truth, there is no death, no loss, and nothing to fear. From your soul's perspective, they are illusions because we are eternal and never alone on this journey. There is only love. And if you can break through to that realization after your child has passed, then you are waking up to your true self and your place in the Universe.
