WHY WE EXIST AND HOW THE UNIVERSE BEGAN
What you are about to read is the most stunning information we have ever received from our son Greg since he left this Earth 11 1/2 years ago.
I intended to write this column about the widespread human condition of loneliness that's often intensified when a child passes, and how we are in fact never alone because God, our Source, is always with us. It's a comforting message that Greg has frequently shared in his communication with his Dad, who channels him.
Instead, Greg stepped in and profoundly expanded on the subject of loneliness, and gave us the ultimate understanding of our connection to Source. And in doing so, he answered life's most pondered questions: Why do we exist? How did the Universe begin?
In an extraordinary insight, Greg said the answers to those questions are inextricably linked to the fact that God felt alone and lonely too.
Here is what Greg told us, and it doesn't get any deeper, and yet more simple, than this (we note here that Greg has called God by several different names over the years, including Father/Mother and He/She. For the sake of brevity, in this channeling, Greg calls God "Father" with the understanding that God is all and not just male):
"Can you imagine just for a minute to realize that you are the only one? God thought us into existence out of loneliness because He discovered He could create, and He couldn't create another God to talk to because He's the only one. You can say you're not alone because you have the Father, but God has no Father. Everything we've created is an answer to God dealing with His loneliness, and He's given us the same powers He has to fill the void and create.
"We wouldn't exist if it wasn't for God's loneliness. That's why He calls us His children. That's why He loves us so much, because we counter His loneliness, and appreciates nothing more than being loved in return. That's why He forgives everything and judges nothing, because we are expressions of Him."
We became emotional as Bill spoke Greg's words and I wrote them down. It strikes a deep chord to be told that our Creator knows how it feels to be lonely because He was lonely too. We would never imagine that God has experienced loneliness, but it's a profound connection between God and us.
Greg continued: "It gives God such joy when His children discover that they're not alone. He's happy when we have finally realized that God is our Father and we don't have to experience what He experienced. You are eternal and infinite and loved because God wants to fill the void of loneliness, and you have gratitude and appreciation for that and love for God. You can be of service to God, and it becomes a two-way street."
Then Greg said, "Before God felt loneliness, He came to realize that He was alone." At this point, I asked Bill to ask Greg, "How did God discover that He was alone if He was the only one? How did He get that awareness?" Greg answered by describing the very beginning of Creation itself from God's perspective:
"It starts with the senses. You're conscious, you're in darkness, and you say to yourself, 'I would like to see other things than darkness'. So you think to yourself, 'I would like to create light so I can see'. Then you can see more and you realize that all you can see is places of light and places of darkness. Then you think, 'What can I fill in these areas that are more than just light and dark?' and you start to create matter. Then you shape the matter, and then the matter takes on an energy and life of its own and starts to interact with itself. Physics takes over, and you get all the elements, and a chain reaction starts to happen and you have created genesis, and from that is created life and beings.
Greg concluded that, "The answer to loneliness is light, because darkness is more lonely than light. Don't you feel less alone in the daytime than at night? It's part of your genetics from God. You feel that loneliness in darkness, and that's why you go to the light, because your Father did that."
If Greg's beautiful explanation of Creation sounds familiar, it's because it's written about in the first chapters of the Bible, the Book of Genesis. In fact, during this download, Greg told us to "read Genesis." Bill and I want to emphasize that we have never been "religious," but our journey with our son has made us very aware that there is much truth in the stories in the Bible, and it's been a revelation to read it with an open and non-dogmatic mind.
Just as the One who created us with love is infinite and eternal, so are we, and it's why our children who have passed in body will always exist for eternity as well. When a beloved child passes, even more intense feelings of loneliness and isolation can be triggered, but as we wake up to the fact that we are never separated from God, we remember that we are not "alone," we are "all one."
The answer to loneliness is light. Lean in to the light, to God, our Source. Talk to Him. He knows how you feel.
