I am new to Helping Parents Heal, having just joined 2 weeks ago. My son Xavier was killed on August 25, 2025, so I am very early in my shining light parent journey.
I joined the gallery reading with Connie Fusella on November 18, 2025, with no expectations. It was so beautiful to see Connie connect parents with their children on the other side. When she began describing a young boy who crossed suddenly and unexpectedly close to home in the evening, leaving behind a brother, and June being significant (my birthday), my heart was beating out of my chest. I knew it was Xavier before Connie even mentioned my leg surgery.
The reading was so validating, so soon after my son transitioned to the spirit world. Connie talked about: my husband/Xavier’s father (J name, Josh) and memories of fishing with him; our neighbour Alex who was first one the scene of the crash and gave Xavier mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions; the “flukey” nature of the accident (the driver who killed him was excessively speeding and “stunt driving”) and how he didn’t see it coming; Xavier’s love of the outdoors and his memories of chasing our chickens and ducks (we live on a farm); his recognition and presence around my mom (S name), who gets so many signs from Xavier; his close relationship with his brother (born only 17 months before Xavier, also almost killed that night and really struggling with his brother’s passing; and so much more. There was only one thing that didn’t make sense at the time was Connie’s mention of a tree. I later visited the memorial site on our road where Xavier was killed, and recalled that our neighbour carved out a space for it from a large conifer that began “weeping”. Xavier’s photo is right below it.
I am deeply grateful to Connie and Helping Parents Heal for connecting me with my beautiful boy.
