The Gallery reading with Manisha Akhauri was filled with many validations (over 20!) of a connection with my son, Charlie.
When your son dies of a fentanyl-related overdose, many people look away. I’ve honored his transition through the documentary BODIES OF WATER. It’s a global documentary with an intimate emotional core.
It is a story about fate, grief, destiny, and transformation---where the spirit of water becomes both metaphor and messenger.
During the reading, Manisha said, “Mom has immortalized me,” and “I was meant to be shared with the world.” She also said, “It’s showtime!” The documentary is being completed this month and premiering in LA in September. Yes, it’s showtime!
Elizabeth, thanks again for the opportunity to gather tonight for a gallery reading. It was uplifting to have such a strong connection with Charlie during a group reading. Manisha was wonderful!
With gratitude, Betsy Murphy
