I was so grateful to receive  two private readings during the conference, one with Lisa Wilcoxson and the second one with Shelly Wilson.  They were very different, and both were amazing.  I will start with Lisa's reading:
Lisa quickly connected with my son, Ben, along with his personality.
I received so many validations, too numerous to mention them all.
1)  Lisa began by asking "where is the 'S' name?"  I told her my maiden name begins with an 'S'.  She said this was about my side of the family and Ben said that this was home to him.
That is true.  Ben was very close to my parents.  We lived in the same town and spent a lot of time together.  My husbands parents lived across the country and Ben didn't have much opportunity to spend time with them.
2)  Lisa said that I have Ben's t-shirt.  I actually had it in my handbag and I pulled it out to show her.
3)  Ben showed Lisa that he was with Grandma and sure enough, my Mom came through without a doubt, her personality so evident.  She had Ben in the crook of her arm and she was just so proud.
She said she loved my hair.  I had just gotten my haircut before the conference at a new salon and I'm much happier with the result than I've been in the past.  My Mom said she was teaching Ben to play bridge.  She was an avid bridge player and loved that I picked up the game, as well.
4)  Lisa said Ben was putting something in my hand that felt like a necklace. Then she heard the words 'Drunken Stupor'.  I revealed to her that Ben had crossed on St. Patrick's Day while on Spring break with his college friends in Cancun, Mexico.  Lisa said that when she was downstairs just before our meeting she got a drop-in from one of the kids in spirit named Patrick that she had connected with earlier.  She said he kept sending her signs that say 'Patrick.'
After listening to the recording of my reading, after I returned home to NJ, it occurred to me that the necklace Ben put in my hand was the one that a friendly shop owner suddenly felt compelled to give to me after I had shared my story with her a few months after Ben's funeral.  She said she knew she was meant to give this to me as she handed me a necklace with gold  4-leaf clover pendant that also looked like a shimmering angel.  I immediately blurted out "Ben wanted you to give this to me for Mother's Day!"  I just knew it was somehow from Ben.  I believe this was his way of letting me know that the necklace I received that day, was indeed from him.
5)  Lisa then said she saw 2 shimmering lights, which means to her a miscarriage.  I shared with her that I had miscarried twins after Ben was born. She said Ben is right in the middle of the two babies.
6)  Lisa said Ben had headphones  and was showing first my face then his face wearing them.  Indeed, I asked my husband if he would mind if I keep Ben's noise canceling Airpods Max for myself, which I use often now for meditation.
7)  Lisa asked if Ben broke his ankle.  He did suffer a bad break to his ankle, requiring a metal plate and screws, just prior to Christmas break his senior year of college.
8)  Lisa said I have a dog and I agreed. Then she asked if I had a Roomba, one of those self-moving vacuums, because Ben was showing the dog doing something on the floor, moving side to side and around in circles.  Our puppy's favorite toy is a wand with a line attached that has a small squeaky, furry toy attached at the end. We have so much fun playing with him as he chases the toy that we drag back and forth and around in circles until he catches it.
9)  Lisa said that Ben loves this dog, and he is so happy because "Mom, he was going to be murdered.  Mom, you saved this dog."
Believe me, it was a surprise, even to myself, when two months ago I suddenly suggested to my husband that now might be a good time to  adopt a rescue dog from a local shelter.  On July 3rd we brought home a lovable 14 week old Pitbull Terrier we named Brodie.
10)  Lisa said that Ben was telling me that he prayed.  She said he was a prayerful person.  He was telling me he saw halos.  He said you need to know the angels came, "I saw halos, Mom. I was not alone Mom.  The angels came with halos."
I shared with Lisa that  we got a call from Ben's roommate late at night on March 17 while Ben and his friends were in Mexico.  He said that Ben had fallen from a balcony and did not survive.
Ben loved to climb and enjoyed taking risks and seemed to enjoy living on the edge, well outside most people's comfort zone.  So I just envisioned him doing stunts to impress his friends and that is how he fell.  It was much later that we came to learn that he was apparently alone when he fell.  That news broke my heart into pieces for a second time, as I couldn't bear the thought of him being all alone in the end.
Hearing from Lisa  that Ben wanted me to know he wasn't alone. That the angels came for him with halos brought  so much peace to my heart.
11)  Ben then showed Lisa his car, his very fast car.  She said like her, I worried all the time, I worried about his car, his camping trip etc.  She said his whole life I always knew - because our souls know.  That is true, I always had the feeling his time with us would be short and I worried about him all the time.
12)  Lisa said that after I told her Ben had fallen, she realized that he had come to her two nights before our reading.
She said this was not a suicide.  He said that to her.  So somewhere in there she said was a question because he's answering it.  He was messing around.
13)  Grandma came back in and wanted to acknowledge my sister.  Lisa said she was hearing the name Kate or Kathryn.  My sister's name is Kathryn and she was Mom's care-giver for much of the time before our Mom crossed.
14)  Lisa asked if we received money after Ben crossed.  I said we have Ben's money.  She said he doesn't want us to feel weird around that money.  I told her I didn't want to spend it, because it was his.
Ben said the money is for us.  He said to do all the things we used to do together and to use his money.  That's what he was saving it for.  He loved to travel and we traveled a lot with Ben and had more plans to travel with him, so we will use his money on these special trips knowing Ben with be right there with us.
15)  Lisa asked who Charlie was.  Ben was showing her a fish.  When Ben was young he had a pet fish named Charlie that he buried in the yard after it died. For some reason I had just been thinking of that fish a few hours before my reading.
Apparently, Ben put that thought in my head earlier that day as validation!
16)  Ben showed himself holding a champagne glass, he wanted to acknowledge a toast.  Lisa asked if Ben's friend got married.  I said yes, and his friend asked my husband to stand in for Ben as a groomsman.  She said they toasted him and they did of course.  She said he was right there.
17)  Ben showed Lisa he was orbiting,  going round and round.  I said he liked to do donuts in his car.  Ben said to Lisa, "I had a need, a need for speed."  She said he was a daredevil and asked if he had a bike.  He had 3 motorcycles and a dirt bike.  We came to learn that he was always doing stunts on his motorcyle and doing wheelies down the main street of his college campus.
18)  She said Ben showed her a pile of old skateboards scattered and stored upside down in a box.  That's exactly how they look in our basement, all of his old skateboards just piled up in an open box.  He said he's not happy with how they are being stored and he said "Come on Mom, give em to some kids."
19)  Ben then brought up his Dad.  He said "tell him I'm always going to be his little buddy."  James always called Ben his little buddy when he was young and later James would always greet Ben with "Hey Buddy" on our weekly FaceTme calls with him.
20)  Ben said he lived it up during his life and he loves that I am such a shining light Mom.  Lisa said he called me a God's eye. Lisa said he's validating that I've got this and my relationship with him is tight.  He said "if this how we're gonna do it, this is how we're gonna do it."
21)  Lastly, I just want to add that during my reading Ben said to Lisa "Lisa, you're a Rockstar!"  It occurred to me, after I returned home to NJ, that Ben picked that line up from us.  To let us know he's always with us. We've been calling Brodie, our new puppy,  a 'Rock Star" ever since the day he moved into our home and into our hearts.
Thank you Ben!  You're amazing, and so is Lisa!
