Jovana Djukic's Validation with her son Baron through Pauline Mason and Drew Cali

My son Baron, “Bary,” transitioned almost eight weeks ago at just 16 years old. At first, it appeared to be a suicide. Some pills were involved, but I couldn't bring myself to learn all the details, as it happened at his dad's house. I simply couldn't bear the thought that my son might have been hurting so much on the inside.

The guilt we all felt surrounding his passing was horrific. Even his younger brother completely shut down.

Yesterday, we had a Zoom gallery reading through Helping Parents Heal, and both mediums, Pauline Mason and Drew Cali, connected with my son. Actually, there were two meetings in one day, and Bary came through both times! I had been begging him to come! 

He wanted to make sure I understood what had happened and, most importantly, how much he is still with me every moment.

My son told me something that brought my first happy tears in eight weeks. He said, “Mom, I didn't mean to. I didn't know my heart would just stop. I was playing with fire, and it just happened.”

And there was so much more...

He shared the most wonderful things. He said he thought he had been a good brother (oh, yes, Bary, you were!), acknowledged how deeply he is loved, and reassured me that he is right beside me every step of the way. He even mentioned tiny details from the past few weeks that absolutely melted my heart.

Can you imagine the weight that was lifted from my chest? Hearing him tell me that he hadn't intended to leave us brought me a sense of relief I hadn't felt since his passing.

I hope every parent can find that kind of peace and reassurance. I believe that if our children had fully understood the pain their loved ones would experience, they would never have wanted to cause it.

I am so incredibly thankful for this wonderful organization and all the resources it provides. Thank you to every parent who supports and lifts up others along this healing journey.
